I have worked with students aged 4 to 80. Everyone seems to want to learn something different. My broad background makes it easy for me to accommodate all of the variety of interests. Nothing Gives me more joy than seeing the faces light up when they "get it". I try to give all my students what they want, and what they need.

BA degree from Sonoma State.

lynbrook high school was one of the top high schools in the United States, always the top high school in California. I was the top drummer for four years there.

I studied with Joe Morello, Nararda Michael Waldron, and Louis Bellson.

I have been teaching since 1972, I have had many state champions one national champion and dozens of county champions at the high school level.

A few of my students have gone on to become professional players in bands such as no use for a name, MC Hammer.

About the lesson

Starts with training the hands to work with the sticks. After a little technique we develop a rhythm control. As we go along with slowly learn a little about reading music (unless reading is a goal then we start with that). We quickly start developing what is necessary to get on the drum set, and start to learn the basics that we can apply to any and every song.
