About Abby
I am currently a third-year student at UC Davis (majoring in Economics and East Asian Studies) and am fluent in both English and Mandarin. I grew up in Taiwan attending an American school and have published multiple Mandarin novels.
I can provide in-depth Chinese tutoring at any level, East Asian history, high school to intro college leveled Economics (I have full AP scores for both macro and micro), middle school to high school level Literature and math. I have had 4 years of tutoring experience and my students range from 6 years old to 18.
I started tutoring family friends' kids when I was in high school and went on to take in a vast amount of students through tutoring websites.
I have had 4 years of tutoring experience and a year of work experience as a camp advisor.

I typically do a one-hour session with half the discussed pay/hr, getting to know the student personally and understanding his/her needs. The process includes a discussion (potentially with the parents as well) regarding expectations, materials and such, as well as a walkthrough of how my teaching sessions go.
I have worked with kids ranging from 6 (first grade) to 18 (high school senior), with subjects including English, Chinese, Economics, and Maths.
If the student is looking for a Chinese student, it is important that the tutor is not only a native Chinese speaker but also fluent in English, as communication is key when it comes to learning a new language. If the student is looking for an Economics tutor, I would suggest a person who has knowledge in the field not only from college education but high school and internships as well.
