About Akshay
Hi, I'm Akshay! I am an Electrical Engineering graduate currently working in Software Engineering. I am passionate about education, and have experience tutoring middle-school, high-school and college level students. My strengths include breaking down complex topics into easily digestible units, standardized test prep, and higher-level science and math classes. I look forward to working with you or your student to help them thrive!
I have taken several advanced Mathematics and Science classes in pursuit of my Electrical Engineering degree, and was on the Dean's List throughout my time in college. I tutored students in Math and Science courses in high school and college, and received perfect scores on the Math sections of the SAT and GRE. In college, I was a Teaching Assistant for the general Introduction to Programming class. As a TA, I held weekly recitations with a class of about 20 students, and met individually with students who needed additional support. I also worked as a tutor, assisting students one-on-one in a number of different courses. My subject matter expertise and relaxed teaching style make me a great fit for both students who are struggling to keep up and those who are eager to get ahead.
I am confident that students will pick up on my excitement for education. Math and Science are powerful tools for understanding the world, and by emphasizing the value of these subjects, I elevate the material from routine schoolwork to lessons that will benefit my students in the real world. I can't wait to help students turn a difficult class into a source of accomplishment!
