About Khai
Hi! I'm Khai, a 1st year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of New South Wales (Sydney). I graduated high school one year early, accelerated all six of my subjects, and was the Top Achieving Student in both Year 11 and 12 where I was in the 99.8th percentile of all NCEA Level 3 students.
Other than that, I've been tutoring math for over two years at NumberWorks'n'Words and really enjoy teaching and engaging with students. Additionally, I also volunteer as an online student helper for math, physics, chemistry, economics and DVC.
Having gone through NCEA myself, I know the system inside out. It is not necessarily about working harder, however it is about working smarter with the right guidance and support.

My tutoring focuses on building a solid understanding of concepts so students can confidently tackle new and unfamiliar problems. Rather than memorising methods, I help students understand the reasoning behind each step to apply their knowledge effectively in exams.
Lessons are interactive, combining clear explanations, worked examples, and guided problem-solving. Students practise questions while I provide feedback and teach exam strategies, often using past NCEA papers to build familiarity with assessment styles.
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, with longer sessions available if needed. I tutor NCEA Level 1–3 students in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and economics, helping them strengthen understanding, prepare for assessments, and achieve higher results.
