About Gregory
I teach students how to organize their thoughts effectively before writing; how to draft and redraft for clarity; and ultimately how to present letter-perfect essays and research papers at the level their regular writing teachers expect — and beyond.
Writing well is no more difficult than learning to juggle, swing a baseball bat or play an instrument. There are basic skills to master, step by step. Once you understand the pre-writing process it becomes easier to form your thoughts fully on paper and to write persuasively and compellingly. First the foundation, then the walls, and then the roof!
My career for several decades has centered around reporting, editing and writing at the highest professional levels, including stints managing print and online publications and bylines in major media such as Businessweek, Newsweek and The Miami Herald. I have two degrees in English, a BA from Stetson University and an MA from the University of Florida, and I have taught college-level courses over the years.
Fun fact: I once lived in Santiago, Chile and I speak Spanish fluently (albeit with a Chilean accent!) as a result.
