About Candace
Besides teaching, I am also a writer and enjoy living as an expat. I spend my free time traveling and getting to know other cultures, eating delicious foods, reading good books, and spending quality time with my dog. Sci-fi and fantasy are my favorite genres for books, movies, and TV shows. While I enjoy being indoors more than outside, I still enjoy nature and walking in the local parks.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine; What drives me to be the best teacher I can be is the motivation I see in students and their eagerness and enthusiasm for learning and improving their communicative and cognitive skills while catering to their individual needs and learning styles. I enjoy helping them learn in a stress-free environment where they can enjoy and have fun while learning and improving. I always make sure that my classes are tailored to my student's needs, and together we always make the most of every lesson.
I have been teaching English since 2016. I began teaching as a preschool teacher back in 2014, helping two-year-olds' development. I have helped students develop their listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills working on their grammar, pronunciation, and accent reduction.
I am certified in TESOL and TEFL for both Business and Children's Education. I have a Masters in Psychology with a focus on Behavioral and Developmental branches concerning Education, Sociology, and Mental Health from the University of Florida. I have also studied Sociology and Cultural Anthropology. I have attended numerous conferences on Child Development, TESOL/TEFL, and Education. I have worked for a few Eastern Asian ESL companies, but most of my clientele has been Chinese and Spanish-speakers.

When I first meet a student, I like to spend the first session building a rapport, getting to know the student(personality, preferences, etc.), and asking a series of questions about them that allows me to gauge their initial English level and for them to rate their own English.
I find this allows the student to get comfortable and lessen the pressure of judging their level. It also allows me to see what areas the student is confident in and where we need to focus and boost their confidence.
Before becoming an online English teacher, I taught individual students and groups of all ages, professions, and levels privately. I work with business and adults mostly now, focusing on conversational English and interpersonal communication skills regarding the American market and consumers. On occasion, I still teach students ranging from primary to University needing help improving their ESL or adjusting to learning in an English-speaking school.

I learned english at school, and since I moved to Germany, I’ve been speaking mostly german and haven’t been using english much. During the quarantine i had spare time and decided to improve my English. My sessions start at $30 an hour and $10+ for each additional 30 minutes based on preparation and tutoring needs. Minimum one hour for a booking required.
