I started teaching through one of the private tutoring assignments that I've been contacted about by Listen & Learn. That was a Beginner's Level Italian course tuition.

Master's of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics/Translation and 3 years of experience in private tutoring.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student would consist of: 1) identifying the student's learning goals (what specifically the student would like to focus on, be it reading, writing, composition, speaking/conversation or all of them, 2) designing program lessons customized for the student's needs that would involve activities to make the learning easier and more fun.

I've worked with various types of students ranging from Beginner's Level to Conversation Level.

I would recommend looking for a teacher who is sensitive to the student's needs but at the same time is capable of evaluating the student's level and progress. Being flexible with learning materials is always a plus too. For example, if the student finds it difficult to learn from textbook exercises, the teacher needs to offer different ways of presenting materials through games, flash cards, etc.
