About Ron

Our volunteer-driven community club is entering the 40th year of encouraging Northern Utah youth and adults to participate in sports. We teach achieving joy in life, a sense of community, good health, honesty, and respect for others through the sport of fencing.

We train fencers in Olympic-style foil, epee, and saber. Many of our fencers are among the best in Utah and the nation. While we are very proud of all our members’ life accomplishments, many have gone on to fence for NCAA programs such as Duke, MIT, Princeton, Air Force Academy, Notre Dame, Dartmouth, and Stanford universities.

It has been a privilege to work with a diverse group of youth and adults over my 40-plus years of teaching fencing. While having some fencers compete at a high level is good for my coaching ego, getting to know each person I teach has been good for my soul.

We teach achieving joy in life, a sense of community, good health, honesty, and respect for others through the sport of fencing. It is not as much about winning as improving one's self through fencing.
With that said, we have had more than our share of fencers take the podium at local, regional, national, and world level competitions. Many of our fencers have also gone on to compete for NCAA programs over the years.

About the lesson

Whether in-person or online, we tailor our instruction to the individual. The sport of fencing is adaptable to almost anyone who would like to learn. We coach kids as young as seven and have taught adults in their 80s.

In-person Individual Lessons: $30 per 30-minute lesson.

Online Individual Lessons: $30 per 30-minute lesson.

A parent MUST be present for the entire lesson with youth under 18 years of age.
