About Anne
As someone with previous experience in tutoring for grades 2-6, I know how much difference a personal connection between student and tutor can make. My teaching philosophy is to discover where my students' motivations and passions lie and to work with them beginning from those points to optimize learning both in and out of tutoring sessions. This helps to give students the solid foundation they need to excel in their academic career going forward.
Because of current COVID-19 health concerns, I will be conducting sessions online only in the hope that all parties involved may remain as safe as possible.

I love the "Aha!" moment when a student realizes how much they can figure out and achieve.
I held a position as a general studies and math tutor for the elementary school in my hometown as well as a position as a teaching assistant for beginner and intermediate Japanese language at Clark University.

The first part of my job is getting to know my student as an individual. Thinking back on my own academic career, the mentors that stand out to me the most are the ones who took the time to know me as a person as treat me as an equal. This is the relationship I work to foster between my students and myself. From there, learning hardly seems like a chore.
