About Julie

French Teacher with five years’ experience in Fairfax County and Arlington Public Schools. Master’s Degree in French from Tufts University. Rated Highly Effective in both school districts. Baccalauréat from the Lycée Français de NY. Appointed by State of Virginia to teach at Governor’s School Académie Française 2019. Proficient in both Google Classroom and Canvas Learning Managemt Systems, working knowledge of Sakai.

i am a highly-qualified educator with a mission of helping each student realize his or her full potential. I have developed a variety of pedagogical strategies to complement diverse learning styles.

I grew up bilingual and have a love for the French language and culture. I have enjoyed maintaining close connections with family and friends living in France, both virtually and in person. I have also enjoyed traveling in French-speaking Canada. I have also enjoyed teaching students about French art, music and cuisine!

I have a Master’s Degree in French and completed a very rigorous teacher training program to obtain my teaching license. I have continued to receive outstanding trading and development through both Fairfax and Arlington Public Schools. I am well-versed in the Middle and High School curricula.

About the lesson

When working with a new student I gather input on concerns of the student and parents, assess learning strengths and areas in need of development, as well as determine the most effective learning strategies for the student. In collaboration with the family, i develop a learning plan designed to achieve their goals for the tutoring engagement.

Details

Pricing is at $50/Hour. I can go to the student ‘s home if there are no pets, otherwise the student will need to come to my home near Woodson High School.

Hours during the school year are:

Monday-Friday 3:30-5:30

During the summer months by appointment.
