About Jody
A French Start provides beginners in French language acquisition a space for comfortably building speaking, writing, and listening skills with guidance. As an instructor, I am focused on finding and using students' strengths while making learning feel more fun and less like a chore. We will work on creating and meeting objectives towards bigger learning goals so what might feel impossible now can become possible. This is the way I learned French: studying independently for several years by approaching the material each day and making learning a fun game as well as a source of great price.

The process involves three stages: 1) first meeting: getting to know one another, creating goals and objectives for language acquisition, 2) second meeting: begin the specialized curriculum meeting student needs, providing reasonable french activities outside the session for the student to stay familiar with the material, and 3) third meeting: review the home activity, assess whether objectives are being met to determine curriculum pace or progression going forward. The third stage is ongoing until either the bigger learning goal is met or student choice to end the tutoring process.
