About Michael

Teaching golf is something I thoroughly enjoy because it gives you the tools to have fun and get the results you are looking for.

I have always been a teacher at heart and love to spend time with those that love to learn. I started teaching with just working with people that asked me to help them and now working with others just out of the joy of it.

I have learned from some of the best intructors and have found that every person is different and requires adapting to the student instead of a one size fits all approach. The two pros that I really learned the most from is Eben Dennis, who wrote a book called "Power Feel Golf" and Clay Ballard that took my own game to heights it never been before. I am a true student of the game and love to teach others.

About the lesson

I like to get to learn more about the students particular interest and better define success together. I like to listen and observe to gage where we need to work on various pieces of the game and swing. From there, we put a plan together that keeps it fun and engaging leading towards fewer strokes.

Five key areas that I follow in the process of teaching:

1) Stable & Fluid Spine

2) Power Turn

3) Top Speed Lag

4) Compression Line

5)Straight Line Release

My first student was my daughters, that came to me later in their teen years wanting to play. They are both adults now and still love to play. The youngest played in high school and finished sixth in district her first year. She could have played in college but soccer was her main game. I have worked with various ages and skill levels. If someone is willing to learn, then I'm will to share what I have learned over the years.

Pick an instructor that you enjoy being around and one that doesn't try to change everything in your game. Everyone is different and what works for some, doesn't work for others.

My favorite tournaments are the Masters and the Ryder Cup. I play in a competitive organization for fun and still love the competition to keep me fresh.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are the goals of the student. Why do they want to take lessons. How does the instructor assess their needs and what is the commitment expectations that each party can make to achieving success.
