About Sandy

I teach students of all levels to PLAY better golf. Improve the shots that you need to score and learn to play smart golf on the course. You will have more fun playing as you improve. New golfers fast track because I simplify what you need to know to get started. I have been teaching for over 30 years and come from a large family of golf professionals. Check out or web site at (concealed information) You can access our Facebook page from there too. I teach in Scottsdale October-May and in Basalt, Colorado (just outside of Aspen) June-September. I love what I do!!!

My dad is Jack Lumpkin, a National Teacher of the Year. He brought me into the game. I went on to play college golf for the University of Georgia. I now teach with my husband, Mike LaBauve who is also a Top 100 Golf Instructor.

I have been a member of the PGA and LPGA for over 30 years. Currently I am Vice President of the Central Section LPGA. I help to design continuing education programs for other golf professionals so I help train other teachers how to teach. I Have taught with Golf Digest Schools, Plane Truth Schools and now LaBauve Golf. I am a Top 50 female Instructor in the country and Top 100 Instuctor alumni class.

About the lesson

If you are new, I talk about the how the game is played and describe the shots you need to learn first to get you out on the golf course. If you already play, I assess the shots you need to score and help you set a game plan to improve. This usually involves lots of wedge work, Gaining distance and control with your driver and improving your putting. I apply everything we learn on the range to how you will use it on the course.

I have worked with all levels starting with new golfers up to Mini Tour players.

Find a teacher that you can connect with and that uses an athletic approach. You can learn much faster with the right information. Make sure everything you you learn will help you on the golf course itself. You don't have to have perfect techinique to play. Try to find someone that can take you out on the course as you are improving. "Playing to learn" is great!

I created the first Women's Golf EXPO in Scottsdale. Our second one will be in Febuary 2018. We conducted clinics all day, showcased whats new in women's golf, offered a retail market place of specialty venders, Titleist ball fitting, Club fitting and raised over 10,000. for LPGA USGA Girls Golf of Phoenix.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your goals and how do you learn best.
