About Marty
I teach traditional Tai chi and qigong based on following principles rather than form. Tai chi and qigong should be your form and not exactly match your teacher's (unless you look exactly like your teacher). The art of tai chi and qigong takes work and practice. It can be fun, it can be boring, it CAN BE AMAZING.
It will help to lower your stress, improve your flexibility and balance. Give it a try. What do you have to lose????

Marty Kidder, of Oak Tree Tai Chi, is a capable, effective, and truly inspiring teacher of the Yang 24 form, the Sun style forms, and the Longevity Tree Qi Gong form. I am fortunate enough to have studied tai chi with Marty Kidder since the day I took my first tai chi step almost ten years ago. I've been taking the online Yang 24 class. I like the pace of the classes, with the great attention to detail that seems to come with ease when one is ready to hear. I also find the question-answer interludes helpful.
The instruction is very clear and easy to follow...each weekly segment gives an ample material to practice through the week then review and added segments keeps it fresh . I love the form.

Marty is extremely clear and as he breaks down the moves with foot moves, then waist turns and hands.. He repeatedly demonstrates the full move and then connects it to the form. I have stayed in the back row when taking his “live” classes but with Zoom I feel like I am getting his instruction on a one to one basis in the front row now! I like the recordings from the classes and the opportunity to ask questions and to also hear his responses from participants' questions.
The warm up qigong moves are excellent and I love how they are varied for each class. I am taking all three classes. I feel my knees and legs are being strengthened taking his classes.
I enjoy the changes in the moves from Sun 73 to Sun Style. The longevity tree qigong is perfect since I am fine tuning the details of the moves. The yang form is new and feels wonderful.
Marty is a great instructor! He is always prepared for class. He introduces knew information at appropriate times so as to keep us interested and not overwhelmed. He is receptive and respectful to the needs of his students.
