About Emily
Hello, my name is Emily. I am a Senior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. My major is Communication Design and I am minoring in Interactive Media Studies with a focus on visualization. Also at Miami, I am the lead Graphic Designer of the Effusions Journal, which is a student run Art History Journal that is published every spring.
As a Designer, I seek to created informed products that present the client's message in a clear and visually attractive way. My interests in career paths include print, UX, branding, and product design though I am interested in learning about as many different options as possible.
I have experience working in a professional corporate marketing environment through my internship at the Cincinnati Insurance Companies over the 2019 summer. In addition to that, I regularly do freelance work for clients in multiple professions including mechanics, student projects and the insurance industry etc.
My design technical skills include Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD.
I also am an alumn of AP Studio Art in high school. I have a lot of experience with drawing, painting, observational drawing, colored pencil, acrylic & pastel.
I am in my senior year in a graphic/communication college level design program. I worked at an internship in the summer of 2019 and Jan. of 2020 to gain valuable industry experience. When it comes to fine art, I have take multiple college level fine art courses including Color Theory, Design and Composition, Technical Drawing, Printmaking & Advanced Drawing.
