About Matthew
I have been teaching since 2015 in classroom and individual settings and can offer lessons on a wide range of subjects. I have a degree in music composition and guitar performance from Wesleyan University, where I was recognized with an award for my compositions. In addition to composition and guitar, I teach classical trombone, music theory, and audio production. You can learn more about my work at mattforkermusic.com
As a professional performing artist, I have been the beneficiary of many wonderful teachers who have all shaped my musicianship in unique ways. I strive to be that for my students, simultaneously giving them space to explore their sound and learn the fundemental tools they need to succeed.

My priority with all of my students is finding out what their goals are for their relatinship to music, and giving them the tools to achieve those goals. I generally like to have new studnets send me some information about their interests before we meet for the first time, so I can be most able to meet them where they're at.
