About James
Private guitar instruction focused on giving students a thorough understanding of music and how it relates to the fretboard. From acclaimed guitarist James DaSilva who has performed with the likes of Victor Wooten, Jeff Coffin, David Liebman, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and many others. Previous students range from young beginners to top session musicians.
I love teaching because I love studying music and sharing my passion for what I do. My biggest goal as a teacher is to instill an infectious desire to improve and get deeper into the music!
I've been an instructor at the Conservatory of Annie Moses since 2013. I have also been involved with the Annie Moses Summer Festival since 2009, as well as the Nashville Jazz Workshop

About the lesson

In the first lesson, I'll have the student play something to get a sense of where they're at in terms of technical ability. From there, I'll give new pieces to develop repertoire while gradually introducing new concepts through carefully constructed exercises.
