About Baileigh

As a multi-instrumental singer-songwriter and producer, I have performance and academic experience playing and teaching throughout the years. I am in my third year of pursuing my music education degree through UNF. However, I was captured by music at the age of 5 when I taught myself songwriting, piano, guitar and ukulele. My services standout because I can understand and teach people the heart of music while keeping our classes grounded in technique.

My favorite part about teaching is watching my students' style develop as we learn technique, repetoire, theory and composition styles.

I started teaching when I graduated high school and it motivated me to start going to school for music education.

I have my AA in performace guitar and am currently pursuing my Bachelors in music education at UNF. My confidence in teaching comes from over five years of experience working with students of all ages, in-person and online. I am a performing artist that composes and collobartes professionally and regularly. I've also volunteered and performed at Girls Rock, a music and entrepeunring camp for kids.

About the lesson

My typical procress when working with new students is to understand what their motivations are for starting music lessons and what knowledge or skills, if any, do they already have. This helps me know musically where they are coming from and where do they want to go?

I have worked with students of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience. I also have worked with some special needs children (dyslexia, mute, adhd).

It is important for your music teacher to understand what you want to get out of music. Music is like science-- we can talk marine biology, anatomy, astronomy, geology, etc. What about music do YOU want to learn? Everyone's musical practice is unique. Make sure you have a teacher willing to tailor your lessons to you.

Recently, one of my students who is 13 years old learned how to improvise (creating music on the spot). It was a very empowering moment for the student, and a milestone in her abilities.

Do you know what kind of music genres you like? Do you know what musical style you want to pursue? Do you want to learn how to read sheet music? What are some of your favorite artist? Songs? Do you sing or want to learn covers? Do you write music or want to learn how to? Do you see yourself playing music with others? With friends, family or perhaps, in a band?
