About Scott

Personal one on one lessons in a friendly home environment or online.

We focus on rock, pop and metal electric guitar style as well as accoustic guitar.

We approach the guitar in a music first kind of way, with an emphasis on guitar fundamentals such as chords and scales. Our goal is to teach people songs they would like to play while infusing theory and technique as the student develops. In addition to learning the music itself, we help the student discover the techniques unique to the various guitar styles, including an understanding of guitar tone and effects.

There's a certain satisfaction and pride a teacher feels when their student has a real passion to play guitar. Sharing the enthusiasm that a student has discovering music, playing guitar. It reminds me why I started so long ago.

About the lesson

The Guitar being a folk instrument, many people come to us with some level of ability to play. So we always discuss the students history with the instrument, and their ambition.

For new students who are starting from scratch, we teach a brief overview of the anatomy of the guitar. Then how to hold and tune the guitar. Everything in the beginning of learning, right down to how you hold your pick is important. Before long, you'll be learning how to play your favorite songs!
