About Robert

I have been playing guitar for over 30 years, teaching for over 20 years, and specialize mostly in Latin American techniques and rhythms - Bolero, tango, Bossa Nova, samba, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, etc. Currently I lead and perform in several ensembles, including three Brazilian bands, and Italian quartet, and a world music sextet. I have recorded five CDs of music with different groups along with solar recordings, and have performed in the most sought after venues in the Twin Cities including Orchestra Hall, the Ordway, the Dakota Jazz club, the Walker Art Center, etc. More info at (concealed information)

Several people approached me wanting to learn, so I decided to teach what I know.

I have studied classical guitar in Lisbon, Portugal, tango guitar in Buenos Aires, Argentina, flamenco guitar in Seville, Spain, west African Guitar In Lomé, Togo, and all styles of Brazilian music with some of BRAZIL‘s best teachers from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

I generally lett the student guide the course and provide support as needed, tailoring my teaching to the student’s needs.

All kinds, from beginning students to very advanced players who want to focus on particular techniques and rhythms mostly from Latin America
