About Andy
To be perfectly candid: here. However, I feel as though I've been learning from, as well as teaching those around me for years. I feel very fortunate to have a degree that I can use on a daily basis in a world where not many have the same classical foundation or grasp of music theory.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from The New School (New York, NY). Since graduating I have been performing all over the world including performing the National Anthem at the Nascar Cup Series in Dover to festivals with 20+ thousand people alongside my band as the guitarist & lead singer. As a Sony Music Publishing writer, I self-produce & write all of our music in my Brooklyn studio, where I also have cuts for numerous artists including Halsey & Young Saab, Luxtides & others.

Figuring out where a student currently is vesus where they'd like to be in 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc is important. I like to find out what the student is passionate about & learn what brought them into music. I believe learning in any sense is half eating your vegtables (scales/theory/the not so fun stuff), and the other half reward and coming back to the music that make you want to pick up a guitar or start singing in the first place.
Just my peers so far! I look forward to expanding however & meeting new students!
When I was growing up I had many different teachers, some of whom I absolutely adored and still talk to regularly, some I never really gelled with.
I believe when working one on one with someone in music the most important thing is to find someone you're comfortable with.
Boy, it's tough to recall any event in the last year! However, late last summer a friend of mine built a stage complete with full sound & lighting production in an empty parking lot & began putting on drive-thru concerts in Columbus, OH. I really admired his ability to find a way to shape shift the festival experience and translate it into a safe way for people to go enjoy live music in such a trying time.
