About Alfred

Teaching guitar, piano, violin, bass, and ukelele for the past 15 years has given me the real-world education necessary to understand that each student is unique and should be taught catered to their strengths as a learner. I've studied music education at LIU Post and received a bachelors in music performance. I'm a multi-instrumental music teacher for several private teaching studios on Long Island. Whether you are just starting out on the guitar or want to pick up the violin again after a several year hiatus, I can help guide you on your musical journey!

I grew up in a very musical family. Both of my parents are musicians and music teachers. Growing up, the music studio was in our home. I was constantly surrounded by music performances and lessons. My parents allowed me to teach at their studio when I was 16 years old. After teaching first hand, I developed a great appreciation for the profession. It's pretty satisfying to watch a student grow and themselves become satisfied with their progress.

I've been teaching guitar and piano at my parents music teaching studio for the past 15 years. I studied music education at LIU Post and hold a bachelors of music performance with a concentration in Guitar Studies. I'm employed at a couple private music teaching studios on Long Island as well. I'm an active working musician who performs jazz and classical guitar frequently throughout Long Island and New York City.

About the lesson

Right away I ask them what their goals are. I have some students that simply just want to learn a couple of chords and strumming patterns on the guitar. I have other students who have aspirations of becoming music majors in college. I've had adult students who just want to learn some of their favorite songs and maybe some improvisational scales along the way.

Details

Typically I charge a monthly tuition. A monthly set price will give you 4 lessons Per month (one per week). Some months you may receive 5 lessons and some you may receive 3. You will not be charged more or less on those months. The overwhelming majority of months will consist of 4 lessons.

30 minute lessons- $175 per month (4 lessons)

45 minute lessons- $210 per month (4 lessons)

1 hour lessons- $250 per month (4 lessons)
