About Aaron

My teaching approach: My approach to teaching is to give the student a solid foundation to build upon. To reach a point where they can confidently teach themselves. I'll ask you for ten of your favorite artists and build your lessons around those artists' music. I offer an unbiased and encouraging place to learn what you want to learn at your own pace. Reading music is not required but I do encourage it My guitar lessons take place in: I'm located in the heart of Overland Park, KS near 103rd and Metcalf. Guitar Techniques: Song Writing, Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Fingerstyle, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music

Meeting new people and spreading the joy of playing music.

I have always had a passion for music. As I got older and settled down with family, I thought I would give teaching a try. I get great satisfaction out of seeing students succeed in music and life.

I have been teaching for several years. I have a background in teaching and training. I have played guitar for over two decades. I have played in numerous bands and also served as a worship leader for many years.

I like to find out what the student hopes to accomplish with their lessons (play like a rock God? sing and play? write? improvise? etc.). Then I like to find out their favorite artists and use songs from those artists to structure lessons around.

I have worked with all types of students from 7 years of age to 60 plus, boys, girls, men women, pairs and groups. I teach at beginner and intermediate levels.

Meet the person first. Do they ask questions? Are they concerned with helping you reach your goals or just trying to fill their roster? Do they communicate well? Do they seem to be patient? Do they have a personalised approach or cookie cutter approach. Teaching has a lot to do with listening and communicating.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How comitted are you to learning this instrument? How much time are you willing to put into practice? Are you willing to follow through on the practice assignments given by the instructor before your next lesson? What do you want to do with your newly acquired skills- become a professional musician, enjoy a hobby, impress a girl/friend/family,etc?
