About Brandon
I've been playing and teaching since I was in high school, and love bringing the love and enjoyment of music to people. I've worked with small children up to elderly adults, and love the challenge of helping students that believe that they have "no talent," or are a "hopeless case," which I find to never be the case as long as the motivation to learn is there. I specialize in bluegrass, country, folk, blues, and pop music, but am open to teaching a variety of other genres as well. I believe in meeting people where they are at, tailoring lessons to an individual's strength, skill, and pacing, and emphasizing fun and freedom in learning in order to increase motivation and enjoyment of the instrument.
I started in high school as a way of trying to make some money on the side, and just continued doing it.
I have studied under several musicians, since childhood, and have several years of experience performing and teaching. I also have a degree in Psychology and a year of experience working with special needs children as a behavioral therapist.
