WHY CHOOSE SLAS?

At SLaS you will learn to sing higher and stronger with no vocal strain and eliminate voice breaks. You will develop your performing skills and artistry by performing in our professional showcases. We provide professional level showcases twice per year at the Strand Theater.

You will learn to sing in the style of music you like - R&B, gospel, musical theatre, rock, pop, country, jazz. You will develop power, consistency, range and flexibility.

We bring you a unique and unparalleled combination:

1. Over 40 years in the music business working with many of the top names in the music industry.

Mix allows you to sing very high notes without straining, in a powerful yet free voice. Mix is the sound most sought after in today's music and in musical theatre.

We enjoy working with students of all ages and experience levels, from beginner to professional. Our Sing Like a Star technique is unlike anything you have experienced before- we are logical and systematic. We know how to develop and train voices, based on vocal science! We don't just "warm up, sing a song, and go home unchanged". Instead we are systematically developing and training muscles that will allow you to sing effortlessly! Students have access to an amazing online manual that includes over 700 recorded exercises that teach everything from breathing to developing belt voice, to developing mix voice to teaching you how to riff and run. It is a very comprehensive program. And we offer twice yearly professional showcase performance opportunities at the gorgeous Strand Theater. Everything you need in one place to truly develop as an artist.

Studio found Tricia Grey has a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance as well as over 25 years as a professional singer in Los Angeles California.  She sings and teaches in all styles- Rock, pop, gospel, country, R & B, and classical.  She is an expert in the Seth Riggs technique of Speech Level singing.  She is a board member of the International Voice Teachers of Mix.  She has authored two books YOU can Sing Like a Star! and YOU can be a Successful Voice Teacher.  She has created a dynamic online program with over 700 exercises that takes singers from the beginning steps of breath management to developing a strong head voice and belt to mixing the voice and on to advanced skills like power, dynamics, flexibility, and riffs and runs.  Her program combines her over 40 years of teaching with over 20 as a professional singer in the competitive music industry.  She has trained thousands of singers, many of whom have gone on to successful careers themselves.  Her students have appeared and won on many television shows such as Star Search, American Idol, America's Got Talent, X Factor and The Voice.

We start with the PVE (Professional Voice Evaluation) where we meet with the client either in-person at our Roswell location or on Zoom.  During this sesion we diagnose and assess the student's voice with scales that show us the student's strengths and challenges.  The student usually sings part of a song during this session.  This process allows us to determine the student's Vocal Category, and we then design a specific lesson plan for that student based on The Eight Steps of Vocal Development.  This is a systematic and organized way of training and developing voices far different from the usual "warm up, sing a song, and go home unchanged" method of most teachers.  In lessons, we cover Breath Management, Lower Register (belt), Upper Register (head), Register Connection, and advanced skills like power, dynamics, flexibility, and riffs and runs.  Lessons are weekly, at the same time each week.
