About Monty

Teaching music lessons for nearly 2 decades, I have a long track record of success with hundreds of students: referrals available. As a longtime student of music, I have 2 college music degrees and never stop learning and growing. I love music and share that love with students of all ages. I completely love the process of learning music, performing music. I started teaching and continue to teach music because I want to inspire students to seek musical experiences and write their story with music. Not to mention the fact that when you graduate from colllege with a music degree it is just what you do...

About the lesson

Assessment > personal practice routine > coaching >repeat

all levels all ages - guitar - piano - bass - percusion

Explore inward and decide that you have the time to practice. Especially if you are an adult with a career and kids etc. If you do not find time and MAKE time to regularly practice, you will be spending your time and money showing up to lessons and likely frustrated sooner than later because you're not getting any better.

not related to music, but performing, I went up on stage at a local comedy open mic and actually got laughs!! imagine that?!?!!!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Please read my suggestion above about practicing. It's really what it comes down to. Parents: kids most likely WILL NOT DO IT ON THEIR OWN. Some kids do: most dont. You have to be willing to be involved and help set up habits for managing time and consistency with the lesson activities between the lesson sessions. The learning does not happen at the lesson, it happens at home. That goes for adults too.
