About James
Having been playing sax and singing since the age of 10years old, the guitar at 14, and bass and keyboards at 18, and now with a number of years of live and recording experience, I want to pass on the passion for music to others.
After formal training on guitar and bass for a number of years, friends started asking for lessons and it progressed from there.
Since the age of 10, I've been trained and continue to learn with various teachers in the area of guitar, bass, and as a songwriter.

Typical process is to evaluate where the new student and where they'd like to be in the future and go from there.
Over the years I've worked w students from the age range of children of 8 / 10 to adults over 50. No matter the age one can always learn and enjoy the gift of music.
I guess the best advise I could give is to make sure that the student really loves music and wants to play. Think through that is this something you really want to do... because though it is fun there is a lot of work involved.
One of my fondest memories is when one of my students who I taught guitar for a couple years, wrote her own song and performed it at church for a couple hundred people and really did a great job.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student should think about what they'd like to learn, what their passion is, and how far they'd like to take their instrument or art; just want to be a guitarist or bassist, a songwriter, etc.

Normally, lessons range from $25 to $35 depending on where the lesson takes place. My home ($25) and your location ($35). A Normal is 30 minutes. If the student would like an hour lesson we can discuss the details.
