Jimmy Page once said that everyone has their own identity coming through the guitar, and it's been a pleasure finding and developing mine with Don. Unlike other teachers, Don doesn't use a book, so the lessons are customized to fit each student's unique personality and taste in music. If you're an adult, you won't have to feel ridiculous playing children's songs, because Don will start you out with the music YOU like. Within a few short weeks, I was already playing Nirvana, Green Day, Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd songs.

Don also has a great way with people. I'm a shy individual, but I feel at ease working with him and his other students (who are also some pretty amazing people). Don challenges me to step outside of my comfort zone, but at a pace that I feel comfortable with. The experience of working him and the other students has given me a lot more confidence and has brought a lot of joy to my life. I feel so fortunate to have Don as both my teacher and friend.

My daughter was very shy when she started taking lessons from Don. She has been taking lesson for just over a year now, and is much more comfortable with performing. While she is still shy, Don has helped boost her confidence. Don is paitent with his students and really listens to his students. I can wait to see the next generation of musicians that Don and Mike help produce.

Don Warren's approach to teaching guitar is perfect for an older student like me. I was learning songs - not scales - at my very first lesson. Don made a point of learning what music I wanted to play and has customized my lessons to my musical tastes.

But wait - there's more! Don is the Mr. Miyagi (see "The Karate Kid" films) of guitar teachers. Although I didn't realize it at the time, Don was teaching me guitar technique and music theory while teaching me songs I wanted to learn ("wax on, wax off").

I have made more progress in six months than I ever imagined I would. I recommend Don Warren to any guitar student.

Lessons and learning based not on formulaic approaches, using instead a very personal approach based on the student's interests, abilities and progress. I've said it over and over - I learned and was able to do more after my first lesson with Don Warren than the previous 50+ years of struggling and learning bad habits.

After a few lessons with Don he turned those bad habits into a positive and after improving what I was doing said: "This is your signature way of playing". It is. And I like it.

Don has a great personality and takes an active approach with his students. He takes the time to get to know you and makes the lessons so much better. Once he knows you it seems so easy for him to shift focus and setup the lessons to what you like and are interested in with music. You'll quickly find yourself able to play (parts) of your favorite songs. Which makes the learning process so much better when you are learning to play music that you love.

Working with don over the years has been a wonderful experience. His approach to teaching has advanced my playing beyond what I could have ever hoped for. Don is an incredible teacher, he’s become not only a mentor to me but also a very good friend.

I have been taking lessons from Don Warren for 4 years now. My experience has been wonderful. Don has taught me how to play and i am sure it was not easy for Don. He has many teaching techniques and he can and will approach each student as needed. Don makes it fun and you really will learn to play. He has Rock Camps for the teenagers and for the older students he has Rock Jams. These are fun events that are low key and are just a blast to be part of. Don is an amazing guitarist (although he plays other instruments as well), so I immediately felt confident that what he teaches me is as good as it gets. He asks me what stuff I like and what I don't like, so he has a grasp of what are my strengths and what he has to work on with me. He is thoroughly encouraging toward his students and I always feel better about myself after a lesson. I tend to be very critical of myself, but Don makes me see the big picture and how much I have improved, even when I get impatient (which is often). I have a long way to go and as an old guy, maybe not a lot of time to get there, but he always makes me want to try. Don has become a treasured friend as well as the best teacher I have ever had, anywhere, any time.
