About Jeff
I believe in customizing my students' experience so they get the most out of their lessons with me. There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to teaching the guitar. I also want to make sure the journey is fun and unique for my students!
I really enjoy getting to know my students and their personal tastes in music. Seeing my students grow and achieve their goals brings me such a satisfying sense of joy. It's truly wonderful to help someone realize their potential.
I had moved to New York City and began working as a singing server at a popular midtown diner, where everyone was a singer/actor/musician/dancer/etc. Many of my coworkers showed interest in learning guitar to set themselves apart from the competition at auditions, and that's when I decided to start teaching.
My father started me on my journey with guitar at the age of ten. After a few years, I was able to take the reigns and teach myself more advaced techniques.

When working with a new student, I feel it's important to get to know their personal musical tastes & goals. I want to know why they want to learn so I can best cater to their individual needs while providing them a solid foundation of knowledge to jump-start their musical journey.
I've worked with many different kinds of students, ranging from age 5 to 50 and from absolute-beginner to intermediate skill level.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Learning an instrument takes a lot of time and dedication. We all know the saying: "practice makes perfect." I don't necessarily subscribe to that...it's more like "practice makes better." The more time you are able to dedicate to exploring and learning your instrument, the more you will get out of your lessons. It's important for students to think through the commitment they're making to themselves before starting this exciting and rewarding journey.
