Age Range for Students: 6+

I have been playing guitar since I was 6 years old, I have performed on stage countless times in a variety of genres as both lead guitar and vocals. As many musicians wish to make a career in music, it isn't always a viable option. I began giving private lessons and found a passion for teaching and sharing the thing I love most with others.

I have been teaching guitar, primarily classical and spanish flamenco, for over eight years professionally in Jacksonville, FL. I worked out of George's Music Musician's Superstore full time.

Besides that, a Post-Grad education in non-music related field.

About the lesson

The first lesson, we figure out exactly what level you are currently playing at; be it intermediate, chords only, absolute beginner, etc. so a fully customized lesson plan can be created. No two people learn the same way. Therefor, a standardized lesson plan for everyone isn't the best way to go. The goal is to get you to your desired level of proficiency as quickly as possible.

I have experience with many students, no two are the same. Specifically though; kids ages 6-17, young siblings in group lessons, mother and son, father and daughters, adults of all ages, retirees 65+, you name it.

There are a LOT of guitar players out there of varying skill levels. I recommend finding someone who has good experience giving lessons out of a music store or academy of music. The screening process to get those positions is very thorough and they tend to account for everything. A person can shred like Van Halen and not know the first thing about teaching.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
...Do you want it?

That is the ONLY requirement for learning an instrument. I mean that seriously. It is hard work and requires hours upon hours of practice over a long period of time. If you're doing it because it is cool, or for "the chicks", or because your parents are making you, the hours of practice are going to an uphill battle and it will be much more difficult.

If you really want it, everything else comes so easily.

Generally, the lessons are $40/per. What is recommended is hour long lessons once a week. We would select a day of the week and time that works best for you and schedule lessons one month at a time.

Other arrangements can always be made; group lessons, parent and child lessons, skype/online lessons, etc.
