About Rajnar

My teaching approach:

I gear my teaching to each student but convey professional information even to beginners capable of receiving it. I've found this makes progress a bit more difficult, but far more rewarding for the student plus it enhances the pace of learning. I was the rock and blues instructor in the Performing Arts division at U-Mass Amherst. Students can still get college credit through their schools.

My influences are:

Too many to list, but any such list would include Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, BB King, Albert King, Eric Clapton ...

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

I'm willing to teach most days of the week, but usually not past 7:30 EST.

Guitar Techniques:

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

An initial lesson usually entails defining terms, presenting basic techniques to maximize playing ease while minimizing joint stress, and if the student already plays, listening and observing

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

This, too, depends on the student but a Skype lesson, for example, usually begins with me sending the student tablature for each lesson and then reviewing previous material.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

My ideal student is highly motivated to learn, willing to practice, patient with themselves, and appreciates the beauty of what I'm teaching. I've had ideal students, and they make teaching
