About Shira

If you want to learn Hebrew or French (reading, speaking and writing). I'll be happy to help you achieve this goal.

I love languages and can explain concepts, grammar, and structures in a simple clear way. I love to include relevant songs, video clips and other media in my teachings. I have a lot of patience and flexibility and can tailor my teachings and materials to your specific needs.

I have a BA cum laude in Hebrew language and French language and literature (cum laude honor) as well as a MA with thesis in Hebrew language, all degrees from Haifa University, Israel. In 1993 I received the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) Award for excellent academic achievement. In 1990 as a senior in high school the French embassy in Israel awarded me a free trip to France for writing the best French composition.

In Hebrew I am available to work with all ages (3-100) and all levels including preparation to Hebrew SAT II, doing a year in israel or Aliyah.

In French I am available to work with beginners and intermediate levels.

Whether I am teaching basic Hebrew/French or more advanced level, one of my goals is to keep you challenged and engaged. I assign homework every lesson and can provide reports as needed.

I have a policy cancellation of 12 hours in advance.

We can work together online on any platform you prefer.

I look forward to hearing from you and speaking Hebrew and/or French with you.

I enjoy developing great relationships with my students. I am happy to support them in any way I can. I love teaching, I love languages, and Hebrew is lots of fun!!

Hebrew lessons offered by Shira are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Newton. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
