About Christine

I was asked to teach my first class when I was 14. I found I had a natural affinity for it, and in fact, I can't really stop myself. If I know something, I have to share it!

40+ years as an historical reenactor, including professional interpretations for the public at historic sites.

18+ years of teaching homeschool students, working after school programs such as Mad Science, tutoring, and curriculum development for various specialty programs.

20+ years of being a Chef Instructor, teaching basic and advanced cooking techniques to all ages. Certified ServSafe Instructor and Proctor for Safe Food Handling Courses for Industry Professionals and those seeking jobs in the food service industry.

About the lesson

Talk with the student and parent to identify areas that need focus.

Work with information provided by the school and teacher to assure that our work together is aimed at success in the classroom.

Once those parameters are understood, we can take the time to get to know the student's areas of interest, and how they can relate to the topics of study.

All ages

Various ability levels, including learning challenges such as Aspberger's, Dyslexia, and ESL.

I spent many years in classroom settings, but work only through virtual meet-ups now.

Having a passion for learning anything and everything is the mark of a great teacher. Find someone that can share their passion with you, so that you can experience that love of learning too!

We attended an event at Historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta this Spring that was enchanting. It was held at night and was called "Illumine". Historic Oakland Cemetery is Atlanta's oldest park, designed for Victorian Atlantans to enjoy picnics and walks through the scenic grounds. The nighttime installations lit up the wonderful monuments and landscape areas, featuring sections that had been recently renovated, as well as focusing on historic details that might usually be missed, such as fingerprints in the bricks made by the creators of the original walkways. It was a magical experience, and a great way to really get to know more about an important historical landmark.
