About Ian
Since COVID hit my business has been closed. This allowed me to pursue my true passion of education and learning. I lov to share knowledge and help others grow.
I am currently a small business owner promoting concerts in Seattle, Portland and Bellingham. I have owned this business for 17 years.
In addition to owning a business I have purused higher education and should have my BA in history with a minor in English soon. I have also explored and taken many classes towards my teaching certification which I plan on pursuing further.
In the past I was a nanny for two young children and a teacher at a before and after school care program in Seattle. I helped with homework, laying out lessons and activities and encouraging children to pursue learning and exploration.

I would like to spend the initial meeting getting to know the student and how they are most comfortable learning. I will work with the student to establish a desired goal for our lessons together and ensure that those lessons maximize our time.
I have experience working with 5-12 year olds and beyond. I constantly advise and interact with high school age students and beyond.
Be sure that YOU are comfortable. Do not settle. Being comfortable and feeling safe is the most important thing because without that you cannot allow yourself to learn.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would suggest thinking about how you learn best, what your goal is and the most important things a tutor can be for you.
