About Sarah
Hi, I'm Sarah and I am a 2019 graduate from Lake Forest College (one of the most prestigious undergraduate priavate schools in the Midwest) with a Bachelors of Arts in History and Religion with a concentration in Medieval Studies and Christianity. My career goals prior to the Pandemic were to work for a library or archive where I could assist students and professionals with research and learning. However, the pandemic has made working in Information and Technology near impossible. During my undergraduate studies I co-ran an academic journal, had two papers published, started a society for history enthusiests and graduated with honors. I also spent a great deal of time helping history students and non-histiry students alike study for exams and write immaculate pappers. I have no certificates in teaching, but I do have a passion for academics and believe that any student can reach the stars with the right guidance.
I do not have any teaching certificates, but I do have a Bachelor's degree in History and Religion. While my concentrations are in Medieval history and Christianity, classes in a broad array of eras were required to recieve my degree.

I begin by asking the student how best they learn; if they understand best when working with visuals, color coding, auditory cues etc. I then ask them to describe the issue they are having and develop a plan with them for working through the issues.
I would advise a student to find a teacher that is willing to get to know you and your learning style best. furthermore, I would advise finding a mentor that is willing to leave the doors to communication open for constructive criticism on both ends, and that views their pupil as an equal rather than a lesser.

Sarah is very thorough and she’s good at explaining things in a way that makes sense. My professor would sometimes go too fast, or not elaborate on things and Sarah made sure to go at my pace. I’m a visual learner so she drew things out for me so that it would be easier for me to understand. I got more out of my classes because she helped to bridge the gap between what the professor taught and what I didn’t understand.
