About David
I am passionate advocate for students and believe that the heart of student success is effort. I want students to focus on the process rather than the product. If they can find joy in what they are doing, they will be more apt to appreciate learning.
Over the course of my 25-year teaching career, I have had the opportunity to teach students from 6th - 12th grade in world history, US history, AVID, and Model United Nations.
For the past 14 years, I have taught AP World History and AP US History at Beckman High School.
In 2013, I was recognized as Orange County Teacher of the Year and California Teacher of the Year.
Serving as a tutor provides me with the opportunity to work one on one or in small groups with students. In this setting, I am better able to identify those areas where a student needs academic support. I want students to succeed as individuals inside and outside of the classroom.
