About Heather
I have been passionate about horses all my life and I love to share my passion, joy and empowerment tools with others. We began Freedom Path Horsemanship in 2016 and started out working with veterans and first responders but have always had our share of children and young adults looking for adventure. We are now excited to explore the Uintah basin and serve the indigenous community.
Being with horses under the open sky is the greatest joy on the earth to me, being a part of a community of people who share my love and joy of horsemanship is the greatest blessing I have been given. Peace, presence and power come from having a relationship with horses and I will always try to share these lesions with others.
I have been working with horses and specializing in animal communication for over 20 years. I began studying dressage horsemanship with Arabians at Taylor Farms in Arizona studying under Linda Sanchez and her natural horsemanship techniques coming from the Perelli method. I have since spent time training with various horse people such as Dian Bode at Another Way School and Karen Volt and Linda Schultz at Red Top Ranch Trick Riding School.

We begin with the basics of catching and grooming a horse then move into groundwork everything is always accompanied by proper safety precautions. After we feel comfortable moving through all of our commands requests and basic communication with the horse from the ground we begin riding bareback to build muscle strength and work up to saddles and tack.

Heather had an intuitive ability to help my fears dissipate. She didn’t ask me anything about why I was afraid of horses. She brought me to her ponies in a field that felt very easy and safe. And where I could watch her horse being ridden. After an hour she asked me to help braid the horse’s main. There couldn’t have been a more perfect interaction for me with a horse. Heather’s simple response to my complicated emotions to horses gave me the biggest freedom to release my fears and begin my new connection and love of horses.
Heather was great with my kids. I was surprised how quickly they learned and got comfortable with the ponies.
