About Melissa
MAB Equine, located in Iliff, Colorado is now taking on new clients. Both western and English disciplines. We have 30 and 60 day training programs for young horses or problem horses.
Breaking colts and fixing problems in horses is what we specialize in.
We are also now accepting trailer-in lessons as well. We have no school horses at the moment. However, we will update this when we start accepting students without their own horses.
MAB Equine teaches horsemanship, Hunter/jumpers, western: walk/trot/canter, barrels, trail, and roping (soon: mounted archery).
We don't charge as much as high class show barns! We just want you to trust your horse and for your horse to trust you!
Literally everything. Ive worked many different jobs, but I always come back to the training. Working with horses brings me joy. Teaching lessons is so rewarding as well. Makes me feel so good when a student accomplishes a task and gets excited about it. And when a client gets their horse back and it's trained to their specs. The happiness of my clients makes my soul smile!
MAB Equine is owned and run by Melissa Brauner. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Melissa grew up riding horses from the day she was born. Riding mostly english and showing all the way up to AA rated USEF shows. However, she enjoyed riding western. She ran barrels, western pleasure, cutting, drill team, and trail. Melissa turned 18 and immediately started giving lessons professionally in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She then went off to train in different states including Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Florida, and now Colorado. Melissa worked for and trained with a member of the US equestrian team in New Jersey, learning how to run high end lesson programs and how to run AA rated USEF horse shows.
Melissa moved to Colorado in hopes of running her own farm and start lesson programs. Now she has!
