About Courtney
As a lifelong horse lover, I am thrilled to teach both riding and Horsemanship to anyone willing to learn! I place safety first, as evidenced by my Certified Horsemanship Association certification, and have a special interest in teaching timid and fearful riders.
I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with others! Sometimes it even involves playing games and letting go of concerns of peer pressure, and our own image of ourselves. I love watching my students do full belly laughs and enjoying the whole process!
To me, teaching is just another step in the act of being a life-long learner! I often learn from my students!
I was originally trained by British Horse Society instructors in my youth, and as the basis for Pony Clubs worldwide, my education was vast! I have read a lot about different styles and training methods and appreciate all forms of Horsemanship and I truly believe that we can all learn something new every day!

I start all students as if they have never seen a horse in person. This ensures there are no gaps in my students education which encompasses all aspects of riding and horse care.
I have worked with students as young as 3 years old and all the way through to the mature adult!
When you are searching for an instructor, make sure you actually like him or her! You will be more comfortable, more relaxed, and in exchange will enjoy your time! If you feel unsafe, or concerned about how your being treated, that takes all of the fun out of riding! And remember, we do this for FUN!
I am actually very happy that because of all we have gone through in 2020, we have seen some wonderful learning opportunities that we never would have before. Now the Masters of anything you wish to learn, are online, on YouTube, or on Zoom! The array is much greater than ever before!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be honest, whatever the situation may be. No one can help if they don’t know the truth! Having ideas about what makes things better or worse can help stimulate a creative flow of ideas in which everyone is part of the solution.
