About Barbara
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working with students in grades K, 2, 3, and 4, helping children build strong academic foundations and confidence in the classroom. In addition to classroom teaching, I have spent the past 20 years tutoring students in reading and math, working with grades 3–8.
As a North Carolina certified teacher, I am passionate about helping students succeed, especially in math, which is my favorite subject to teach and tutor. I believe every child can learn with patience, encouragement, and the right support.
One of the reasons I connect so well with struggling learners is because I personally struggled with reading and math as a young student. Those experiences have given me understanding, compassion, and the ability to encourage students who may lack confidence in their abilities. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, capable, and motivated to grow.
My goal is to help each student strengthen skills, gain confidence, and develop a love for learning that lasts beyond the classroom.
