About Amy
As a former public school teacher, I have experience working in the classroom with students from 2nd to 5th grade. I am certified in the Orton-Gillingham phonics program and specialize in teaching young children to read. I know how to formulate lesson plans that correspond to the NC Standard Course of Study and I am willing to attend IEP meetings with parents if needed. I focus on Math and Reading for students K-5. I come as a package with my Labradoodle, Charleigh. We incorporate fun with each lesson and provide a hands-on learning experience in a private setting.
