About Jill
I am a certified Dyslexia Specialist with a duel masters degree in literacy and multisensory instruction. I hold several certificates including general education, special education, reading specialist, and Orton-Gillingham.
I like one on one work, students aren't as intimidated by adacemics. They feel a certain sense of security and have better results in a classroom when they are getting modified lessons specific to their needs. Kids gain confidences from tutoring.
I began subbing, loved it then went back to college for a teaching certificate.

I prefer to test students, to get a reading score and level, see if there are skills that have not been mastered and we start at the roots of the problem.
I have taught from pre-k through college, general education and special education students, as well as college freshmen.
If you are serious about tutoring, make sure you interview several people. DO not go with the first person you meet. Be very sure you have a connection. Tutoring hours can be very long if you are not comfortable. Not everyone shares your views and personalities can clash.
I have been nominated for an award by a parent and won!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You should understand what your needs are, then ask questions that have to do with your needs. Example you do not want a teacher who is good at math, but has not taught it. It is one thing to like math and be good at a subject, it is another to be able to teach it.
