About Steven
Hello! I am a 9-year-experienced special education teacher in South Carolina with a Masters of Education in Special Education degree and Dyslexia Graduate Certificate. I have over 100 hours of training with the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, have taught 160 lessons under a mentor at one of their 8-week summer camps in 2018, and did an in-person 50-hour tutoring practicum in 2019 with a training fellow whose mentor's mentor was Anna Gillingham herself. Additionally, I completed 5 graduate courses on dyslexia at University of Florida, including a 40-hour online tutoring practicum in 2022 under a Harvard-degreed coach.
My interest and specialty is in working with students aged 7-14 on basic reading, reading fluency, and basic writing. I can provide in-person or online tutoring.
