About Catherine

I love helping students succeed! I provide structured and personalized tutoring services. With more than 30 years of experience as an educator, my goal is to help students engage their active learning and critical thinking skills. Through quality language arts instruction, I guide students to become independent learners. With consistent effort, students will gain confidence and success in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, speaking, and listening (and possibly learn a few Aussie expressions). After growing up in Australia, I graduated from Teacher's College and taught for several years in the primary grades. I moved to the USA in 1992, earned my degree in Education from Liberty University, and have been teaching and tutoring children ever since. I love my job!

"Cathy has tutored my boys for the past several years at both the middle and high school levels. She is not only knowledgeable in her instruction, but also warm and kind. Her positivity and encouragement with my reluctant writers has been such a gift! With her help I have seen great improvement with my boys' writing skills."

Cathy has such a calm and friendly demeanor. She is great with my daughter, who can easily get distracted and lose her focus. Cathy easily gets her back on track. Before Cathy, we used to struggle and become frustrated while doing our English homework, but now we are both happy! She is helping to build her writing skills using helpful tools and strategies to lay the foundation for long-term success.
