About Julia
Hello! I am a first grade teacher at an independent school in Providence, RI, and I love what I do. I hold an elementary (1-6) teaching license with SEI through the state of Massachusetts. My teaching experience ranges from sixth grade math through early literacy skill. I have used a wide range of math curricula, from home schooling programs to Singapore Math and inquiry-based programs. I am also trained in Fundations and the Orton-Gillingham method, which provide frameworks for much of the literacy tutoring that I do. My primary focus in tutoring is helping students gain confidence in their abilities and light a spark to excite them about achieving their goals. My teaching practice has been described as direct and nurturing, always adapting to student needs.
