About Shokofeh
Shokofeh's Farsi Tutoring provides private Farsi (Persian) lessons for children and adults in Torrance, CA and the South Bay, with virtual/Zoom sessions available. Instruction focuses on reading, writing, and conversation and is tailored to each learner, including complete beginners and heritage speakers. Lessons are led by Shokofeh Hejazi, a native speaker born and raised in Iran with over 30 years of teaching experience in Iran and the United States.
Sessions can take place at students’ homes or at nearby cafes and libraries. Teaching methods include textbooks, digital tools and games, writing exercises, and guided conversation, with elements of Persian culture—sometimes including cooking—integrated to reinforce language skills. Students range from preschoolers (as young as age 3) to adults.
Availability is Monday through Saturday with flexible scheduling between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The rate is $45 per hour.
