About Abi
As a high school student myself, I know what it's like to see others struggle and what's common within those struggles. I've helped many kids in my classes who've recommended me to this site, as well as my teachers! I'd love to help teach more kids the ways of math and algebraic material to set them on a good path towards success! A few years back, I participated in Math Pentathlon, a mathematician competition in my school district, placing 3rd for my age group. A year later, I was introduced to UIL and participated in the Number Sense and Mathematics region for the state of Texas, placing 5th the first year, 4th the second, and 1st the third for my age group. I've been tutoring and helping students for almost five years now, and would love to help you, too!
I enjoy seeing kids understand things. When a student understands something, they're growing. And it think that's a beautiful thing. Seeing students get past their struggles is amazing to me. I also enjoy working with kids of all ages. Children, teens, young adults, they're awesome!

As a high school student, I've learned basic mathematics up to the level of Algebra 1. I'm an overachiever, some would say, and have previously self-taught myself trigonometry as well as the basics of calculus.

Getting to know a student as we progress with the material is an efficient way of learning both the material and about the student. I tend to sometimes throw in small questions to learn more about the student as the lessons progress. First and foremost, I like to learn a students pronouns so I know how to properly and comfortably address them when speaking to/about them. With a new student, I will see what they've already learned, and what areas they need to grow in. We will focus on the areas of growth and sometimes blend in previous structure with it.
