About Aria
I'm a TJHSST freshman, with a love of STEM, kids, and teaching. I'm extremely patient with students and happy to work around your schedule!
I love connecting with children and am so passionate about sharing my love of STEM. When I think about the most rewarding part, it's the "aha!" moment following difficult material.
I have informally tutored kids, and become known as a person around school and friends to ask for academic help when needed.
I attribute this to my patience when teaching material, as well as my ability to view the material from a kid's perspective, explaining in a way they'll understand, which seems to escape many adults and teachers.

First, I find it important to quickly evaluate what your student does and does not know to keep them fully engaged and the material not boring.
Next, I'll walk through the current topic, explaining at a speed that matches the student's preference, making sure to pause along the way to confirm your student is following and clarification is not needed.
Following this, practice problems will be demonstrated and given, until the student has proven the material is well understood. At the end of the unit, all topics will be reviewed and evaluated.
I take a more hands-on approach, meaning that your student will never simply be handed a sheet of problems to do silently off to the side. Instead, we will be doing them together, with them walking me through their thought process, by the end essentially "teaching" me. It has long been said this is the most effective way to tell if the material is well retained. It will be communicated and well understood that asking for help is never a nuisance, nor should it be uncomfortable.
