About Alonzo

Choose Alpha Math Tutoring and you will find some of the greatest math tutoring around. Being a math tutor for 2 years at Orange Coast College, I have enjoyed helping as many people as I can with the math problems they need. With my huge love and skills in math, I will do my best to provide the service you need. I have been awarded with a certificate in tutoring skills and practices by Orange Coast College: I have got the experience and training I need to make sure you are getting the tutoring you need to succeed.

In simplest terms, I enjoy helping people; helping people with math is even more enjoyable. Math has always been one of my interests and strengths. Being able to explain ideas and concepts to students to help them understand brings me joy. I also like seeing people get things on their own and figuring things out.

I became a tutor after my Calculus professor contacted Orange Coast College's tutoring center and told them I would make a good tutor. I applied and was lucky enough to be one of the 6 out of 100 students that applied for the tutoring positions, to get it.

I am currently about to finish my Associate's Degree in Mathematics at Orange Coast College. I also completed the tutoring skills and training course that they offer and recieved a certificate upon completion.

About the lesson

With new students, I first like to introduce myself and get to know student. I ask how they prefer to run through problems. I always asked what they have learned so far and how their teacher runs things.

So far I have worked with college students (teenagers to adults).

I would tell the student to make sure the teacher is aware what methods and ways are being taught in class. Their are different approaches to problems and knowing how they are being taught in class will line up more effectively. I would also make sure to tell that that the tutor should never distracted and disinterested.

As of now, based off of experience I am offering $15 for 30 minutes and $25 for an hour.
