About Carly
I love celebrating students. Improving test scores or understanding key concepts is a big deal, and I love to encourage students when I notice improvement. I also love to celebrate students when I see them working hard!
I have worked with a lot of students with learning disabilities, and I love making them feel comfortable and confident in things that used to intimidate them. I love helping them feel empowered and prepared to do their best.
I began in a local school tutoring and developing a learning assistance program for middle and high school students with learning disabilities.
I have over 400 hours of in-person tutoring experience, and I am currently applying for certification with the National Tutoring Association.

Typically, I ask students about their biggest needs in the first session. I will try to identify what is causing problems: the material, study skills, learning style, and/or testing. Once we have identified some key issues, I will ask them to take out their homework, notes, study sheets, or a past test or quiz to review. After going through some basic material, I can begin to see where there are gaps in understanding and work with them on grasping key concepts.
I have worked with students from 6th grade to 12th grade with disabilities such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and Anxiety.

Details
I charge $30/hour for tutoring sessions ($15/half-hour and $60 for two hours). If you cancel a tutoring session without a 24-hour notice, you will still be responsible for payment.
